What We Offer
The Plant Biology Program provides ample opportunities for both field and laboratory study. Below are some of our strengths:
- forest, grassland, and wetland ecology
- plant systematics and evolution (morphological and molecular)
- pollination ecology
- plant molecular biology
- plant stress physiology
- molecular biology of mineral nutrition and micronutrient uptake
- developmental morphology and anatomy
- electron microscopy
A degree in Plant Biology provides the skills and background needed for employment in a variety of disciplines. But it also provides the foundation for a lifelong appreciation of plants, their environments, and their impact on humans. A major, a minor, or even selected courses in Plant biology are all excellent ways to pursue a liberal education program.
